A popular supermarket snack food has been recalled over "a possible health risk" following a label misprint. Plant-based brand THIS has urged customers with wheat or soya allergies or intolerances to return items from its THIS Isn't Chicken Deli range. An alert from the Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned that the product line "contains undeclared soya and wheat, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance or with coeliac disease".

Point-of-sale notices will also be displayed in supermarkets selling the range, notifying customers of a "cautionary recall". "During production, a batch of THIS Isn't Chicken Deli Pieces was incorrectly packed with base labels intended for our THIS Isn't Cocktail Sausages," the notice read.

"Please check the website for the correct ingredient list," it continued. "The safety of our customers is always our top priority."

The impacted products are 120g and contain use-by dates of January 29, January 30, January 31, February 2, February 3, February 4, February 5, February 6, February 6, February 12 and February 13.

The notice urged customers who have bought items from the impacted line to "please not eat it".

"Instead, check if you have bought the affected use-by dates of the THIS Isn't Chicken Deli Pieces," it said.

"You can do this by taking a picture of the notice or writing down the use-by dates for reference at home.

"[Then] return the affected product to the store for a full refund, with or without a receipt."

Alongside a recall, the FSA issued an allergy alert after the mislabelling incident emerged - a procedure when "foods have to be withdrawn or recalled because the allergy label is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk".
