The UK is currently boiling under an astonishing heatwave, but conditions are set to change, to the relief of many.

The latest weather maps show the date when temperatures will drop as low as 6C, which will come as a relief to many struggling with the current heatwave. The UK is experiencing its second scorching heatwave of 2026, following a record-breaking few days in May. An extreme heat warning was put in place for Wednesday and Thursday in much of the country, indicating a risk to health for the general population due to high temperatures.

However, the end is in sight as high temperatures are set to last only a few more days. People across Britain, especially in the South of England, the Midlands and the South of Wales, are struggling to sleep at night and stay comfortable during the day. The latest maps from forecaster WXCharts show temperatures dropping below 10C in some parts of the country, with only a few more days to wait until cooler, more comfortable conditions.

Temperatures will plunge to as low as 6C in Scotland on Tuesday, June 30. Meanwhile, temperatures in the North of England could fall to 9C or 10C early in the morning, while temperatures in Wales will be between 10C and 12C throughout.

As per usual, the Midlands and the South of England will be the warmest. However, temperatures could get as low as 12C in areas such as Devon and Cornwall, while temperatures in the South East will likely be 14C and 15C early in the morning on Monday.

It comes after scorching temperatures this week, where conditions reached close to 40C on Wednesday. A red weather warning was initially in place on Wednesday and Thursday, while an amber warning was in place for Friday and Saturday. However, Friday has now been upgraded to a red warning.

When it comes to the period starting June 30, the Met Office currently expects "fairly changeable conditions" with "periods of rain and showers", as well as possible thundery showers.

It reads: "The best of the drier and brighter weather initially will be across the southeast. Then perhaps a drier start to July for many, although the northwest may still see some rain at times, and perhaps accompanied by some strong winds.

Temperatures are likely to be near average in the north and slightly warmer than average in the south, but with winds generally from the west, temperatures aren't expected to be as hot as seen recently."
