Donald Trump's unconventional putting technique has sparked fresh controversy as the president faces renewed claims of golfing misconduct.

Over the weekend, Trump is said to have won both the club and senior championships at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, posting a 70 to finish at two-under par. Given his purported track record of taking liberties with the rules on the greens and fairways, however, some observers questioned the commanding triumph.

"The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship!" Trump wrote on Truth Social alongside footage of his decisive putt.

"Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I'm given very little time to practice, because I'm focused on many other things.

"It's called TALENT, and I have it, and they don't!"

Following Trump's latest club championship success, footage of his putting method began circulating across social media. His approach on the greens deviates from standard instruction, featuring an open stance and a compact, wrist-led movement.

Taking to X, scores of viewers couldn't resist poking fun at his misses and mishits. "It's so interesting how he won 43 Club Championships with this masterful putting stroke," a user sarcastically wrote, with another adding: "He looks like me at the putt putt course - I suck too."

A third chimed in, "He has a horrible putting stroke. If anything goes in it's pure luck. The guy is terrible."

Others quickly leapt to Trump's defence, maintaining that the compilation of missed putts actually demonstrated quality shots that left straightforward tap-ins.

"You're showing 20 footers he's leaving to tap in range," one person said. Another contended: "Those are all good putts. Every one leaves him a tap in. I hope you don't think he (or anyone) is supposed make 25 footers on a regular basis."

While Trump - who reportedly boasts an improbable 2.8 handicap with the USGA - may possess an unorthodox-looking swing, it's proved reliable and delivers consistent results.

Yet he's consistently emphasised his golfing prowess, even claiming he's secured at least 40 club championships across his 15 world-class golf properties worldwide.

Sports journalist Rick Reilly - author of the 2019 book Commander in Cheat, which scrutinises Trump's numerous golf cheating controversies - dismantled this bold claim by exposing how the POTUS racks up bogus wins in these tournaments.

"Trump's going around telling people he has won 20. But that's 100 percent a lie," Reilly told Vox back in 2019. "I actually played with him once, and he told me how he does it.

"Whenever he opens a new golf course, because he owns 14 and operates another five, he plays the first club champion by himself and declares that the club championship and puts his name on the wall."
