Tesco is selling a brand new type of ready-to-drink canned coffee in their stores. Oat milk company Oatly has unveiled their new ready-to-drink iced coffees, a first for the brand.
There will be two different types of flavours both sold for £2 each and come in 235ml cans. The first is the Oatly Barista Iced Flat White and the second, for those with who want a sweeter taste for their morning caffine injection is the Oatly Barista Iced Caramel Macchiato.
They combine Oatly's oat milk to arabica coffee with the Flat White offering that “unmistakable flat white taste” with a double shot of coffee. The Macchiato has a “touch of caramel for a rounded, indulgent flavour”, the Bryan Carroll, general manager at Oatly UK said.

“This ambient ready-to-drink format has been developed with the growing grab-and-go audience in mind,” Mr Carroll continued. “We are seeing a real shift in how shoppers consume coffee, with Gen Z in particular driving the surge in cold formats – a trend that continues to remain a cultural movement as we head into the new year.”
The products can be stored at room temperature, but are recommended to be served chilled, or over ice. The ready-to-drink cans will be stocked in more than 400 Tesco stores.
“Taste remains central to all Oatly innovation, and alongside the rising demand for convenience, we are excited to see the response to these new RTDs as they roll out in Tesco,” said Carroll.
Tesco has been cutting thousands of prices for their products after Asda "declared war" at the beginning of the year with thousands of price cuts of their own. Asda's RollBack campaign has seen cuts to 2,814 products in their stores, cutting prices of 956 "family favourite" items last month alone.
To fight back, Tesco has announced price cuts to 3,352 products in the four weeks to November 3, with an average change of -20.6%.
