Multiple people have died after two Russian bridges collapsed overnight in regions bordering Ukraine. An explosion has been blamed for the destruction of one of the bridges, which fell onto railway tracks in Bryansk, Russia's Oblast region, killing seven people onboard an approaching train. At least 69 passengers were injured in the crash after the journey was derailed on its way from Moscow to Klimov.

A bridge also came down in the Kursk region shortly afterwards as a freight train was passing over it, Russian officials said. The train's driver was reportedly injured in the incident. Local officials have blamed "illegal interference" for the two collapses and accused Ukraine of "terrorist" activity.
