Prince William has been warned he "can't really avoid" the renewed attention surrounding Prince Harry's return to the UK, despite reportedly trying to put his brother out of his mind. The Duke of Sussex is expected to arrive in Britain in the coming days for a rare solo visit to mark the official one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

There has been uncertainty over whether Meghan Markle and the couple's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would join him. It is now understood Harry will be visiting London alone.

The trip has fuelled fresh speculation over whether Harry could meet with King Charles as the Duke continues efforts to repair his relationship with his father following years of estrangement. However, a reunion with Prince William is widely considered unlikely amid continuing tensions between the brothers.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond believes King Charles remains eager to see Prince Harry despite the strains in their relationship following the Duke of Sussex's departure from royal life.

The former BBC royal correspondent said a parent's love does not disappear, even after years of disagreements, suggesting the King may view some of Harry's actions with frustration but would still welcome a reunion.

Ms Bond said: "And he probably wants to see his younger son as well. I've long held the view that it is the role of a parent to be the bigger person in all this and hold out your arms and say, 'Look, you've been an absolute twit, but I still love you'."

Bond also believes Charles would love the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whom he has rarely seen since the Sussex family moved to California.

However, she said the ongoing dispute over Harry's UK security arrangements has complicated matters, particularly following the Duke's legal challenge over the issue.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's royal future could be at risk because of their parents, reports claim. The sisters' mother, Sarah Ferguson, purportedly met them in Austria where she asked for their financial support, according to Heatworld magazine.

Meanwhile, their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is said to have expressed dissatisfaction at the distance Beatrice and Eugenie have maintained to please the rest of the Royal Family, a story in Woman's Day claims. The siblings have reportedly been left in a tricky position.

An unnamed source claimed Beatrice and Eugenie are "painfully aware" of how delicate their position is inside the Royal Family.

They said: "It’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t be the absolute end for them.

"They’re already teetering on being exiled along with their parents, so it’s an incredibly delicate situation."

No jeans

Jeans are strictly forbidden in the Royal Box at Wimbledon. In fact, Meghan Markle sat elsewhere at the tournament in 2019 after deciding to don denim trousers. She was there to support her friend Serena Williams at the time, but it was also before she and her husband stepped down as senior working royals.

Handbags in the left hand

It is well documented that royal women are required to carry a handbag in their left hand to keep their right hand free. This is because they usually have to greet people at public appearances, which requires them to use their right hand to shake hands.

Skirt lengths

When it comes to royal women dressing up for occasions like Wimbledon, skirt and dress length is vitally important to consider. As a general rule, skirts must be down to or below the knee. This not only applies to Wimbledon, but all royal appearances.

No tiaras

While royals are no strangers to crowns and tiaras, you will not see any at Wimbledon. This is mainly because tiaras are not to be worn before 5pm, so you won't see them at daytime events like Wimbledon.

Ties are compulsory

Men who are watching the tennis from the Royal Box must wear a tie. They must also wear a suit or jacket when sitting in the prestigious area.

Strict arrival time

There is a strict rule in the Wimbledon Royal Box regarding timeliness. You will likely never see the likes of William and Catherine being tardy, as the general Royal Box rules state that people must be on time, or they will be refused entry.

Catherine's sister, Pippa, was famously turned away from the Royal Box in 2017 after arriving late and was made to watch the tennis elsewhere.

Disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was "shown sympathy" by two members of the Royal Family during a rare public appearance at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials, according to a royal expert. The former Duke of York was seen on the King's Norfolk estate, close to Marsh Farm where he now lives. According to witnesses, he kept a low profile, watching from a secluded area before quietly leaving in his Land Rover Defender shortly after the Duchess of Edinburgh completed her carriage-driving event.

Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, the Daily Mail's royal editor Rebecca English said: "He suddenly popped up at the Sandringham horse trials where the Duchess of Edinburgh was competing in carriage driving. The Duke of Edinburgh was there and he [Andrew] was seen in his cart, sunglasses on, trying to keep a low profile, but he was spotted, stayed for a little bit and then went off." She added: "It shows he's going out and about a little bit but still trying not to be spotted."

Prince Harry's children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were thrilled at the chance of visiting the UK, it has been claimed. The Duke of Sussex is set to arrive back in the country next week to mark the one-year countdown of the Invictus Games in Birmingham.

He hoped to bring his wife Meghan Markle and children Archie and Lilibet, although those plans have now reportedly been scrapped. It will prove devastating for his kids, particularly given how excited they apparently were about the trip.

Speaking to The Mail, a friend of Harry's said: "The problem [with the most recent unravelling of the plans] is that the children are just so excited about this visit. They were told already some time ago that they are coming and they are beside themselves with excitement.

Prince William is expected to make an appearance in the Royal Box at Wimbledon at some stage this summer - but he also has a lesser-known link to a legendary tennis player. The Prince of Wales regularly attends the annual event with his wife, Princess Catherine, and their two eldest children.

The Royal Family has a longstanding relationship with Wimbledon, with the late Queen Elizabeth II becoming a patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), where the tournament takes place, in 1952 - a role now held by the Princess of Wales. Prince William and Prince Harry are also friends with Alexander Gilkes, who has been engaged to Maria Sharapova, one of the most successful tennis players in history, since 2020.

Alexander met William when they were both students at Eton College, and the pair remained close over the years as he became a well-known art dealer, co-founding the online auction house Paddle8 in 2011.

Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet will not travel to London with Prince Harry next week amid concerns over the family's security in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex's plans to bring his whole family back to the capital for the first time after four years have been scrapped after he was denied police protection while in the country, it's been reported.

King Charles has issued a statement to congratulate President Donald Trump and the American people as the US celebrates 250 years since the Declaration of Independence.

In a new message published on the Royal Family's social media channels, His Majesty told the US President: "Through centuries of shared challenge and achievement, our nations have built a relationship founded on friendship, trust and a belief in liberty, the rule of law and the dignity of all people.

"As we look ahead to the next 250 years, I have no doubt we will continue to defend our shared values. The connection between our peoples is one that I trust will only grow stronger with time."

The King signed the letter with "Charles R," with R standing for Rex, Latin for King.

The Prince of Wales revealed that he will head straight to the US if England reaches the World Cup final, adding that the team would be “winning it”.

Meghan Markle’s former husband, Trevor Engelson, was spotted at Wimbledon this week, just as the Princess of Wales made her grand return.

The Duchess of Sussex was married to the US producer from 2011 until 2014, just two years before she started dating Prince Harry.

Prince Harry’s uncertainty about his upcoming trip to the UK next week is causing “frustration” within Palace walls, it has been claimed.
