A royal aide appears to have revealed exactly how King Charles feels about his relationship with Prince Harry with a telling 11-word comment. Prince Harry, who stepped down from royal duties in 2020, has been at loggerheads with his family for some time.
Pictures published at the weekend by the Mail on Sunday showed a meeting, which has been dubbed as "peace talks", taking place between the King and Queen’s director of communications Tobyn Andreae with Meredith Maines, chief communications officer for Harry’s charity Archewell, and its UK and Europe communications manager Liam Maguire.
This emerged just a few weeks after Harry hit out at his father, revealing that he was no longer speaking to him. The interview came just hours after he lost a High Court case asking for taxpayer-funded security when visiting the UK.

Despite the King reportedly being "frustrated” by Harry's behaviour prior to the interview being aired, a source has discussed how the King feels towards his youngest son.
The source said: "The King is at heart a loving and generous man. That love has been sorely tested by this case and so many other issues over recent times.
But there is now a chance for his son to move forwards rather than dwell on past grievances."
He also added that the King appeared to "shut [the door] by necessity while this painful issue played out through the proper judicial channels", before adding, in a telling 11-word comment, that "it has not been locked forever nor the key thrown away."

The aides met on the balcony of the members-only Royal Over-Seas League club - which is a three-minute walk from Clarence House. The meeting has now been described as an "informal drink" rather than a formal negotiation.
It was also speculated that Harry and Meghan Markle had been behind the leaking of details of the meeting - something the couple have now strongly denied.
It has also emerged that the King and Harry could be set to meet in September, during the Duke of Sussex's visit to the UK for the WellChild Awards.
