The Duke of Sussex has not been a working royal for almost six years.

Prince Harry has been urged by a royal expert to do one thing this year to remain popular and successful. Since quitting royal life in 2020, Harry seems to have not had one clear path to follow in terms of his working life.

However, one thing he has continued to do is charity work, which seems to have painted him in a positive light. This could be because charity work is something the prince did during his time as a working royal. While it is not known what Harry’s main focus for 2026 is, one royal expert has urged him to continue focusing on his charitable endeavours, which he is “incredibly good at”.

Speaking to The Mirror, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “We’ve seen this year (2025) that Harry is still very popular when he carries out his charity work.

“He’s incredibly good at it. I suspect he’s more comfortable working in the charity field than in film production, about which he knows very little.

“So my advice to him would be to play to his strengths, continue using his platform to highlight issues that matter to him and keep lending his name and fame to the charities he wants to help.”

The prince has focused on his charity work continuously since quitting royal life in 2020.

While his wife Meghan Markle, 44, has spent time focusing on different ventures such as Netflix projects, podcasts and her brand As Ever, the prince seems to have been more comfortable in work that he was used to when he was a working royal.

This is something he has done both in the US, where he has lived since 2020, and overseas, with the duke having taken various trips over the last few years to carry out his charity work.

This includes visits back to the UK to attend events such as the Wellchild Awards.

He is rarely joined by wife Meghan for such visits, with the duchess having not visited the UK since 2022.
