The former home of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex is set to face some changes.

Prince Harry will no doubt be feeling sad this week after it was revealed his beloved UK home will have all traces of him removed. The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle were gifted Frogmore Cottage after their 2018 wedding day, and were quick to start renovations.

The renovations on the Windsor home were believed to have cost around £2.4 million, and involved turning the cottage into one bigger home rather than two semi-detached houses. The renovations also saw the couple make their mark on the property, which included creating a yoga studio. However, with the property having now remained unoccupied for some time, especially since Harry and Meghan had to hand back the keys in 2023 - three years after they quit royal life - it is believed these renovations are set to be undone.

Not only will this be a blow for Harry to know, especially as he had to pay for the renovation work, but it will no doubt also stir up some sadness, as Harry felt fondly about his UK home, which apparently could be converted back into two semi-detached houses.

Talking about the couple’s Windsor cottage in his memoir Spare, Harry said: “We loved that place. From the first minute. It felt as if we were destined to live there.

"We couldn't wait to wake up in the morning, go for a long walk in the gardens, check in with the swans. Especially grumpy Steve.

“We met the Queen's gardeners, got to know their names and the names of all the flowers. They were thrilled at how much we appreciated, and praised, their artistry."

They were then given the Windsor cottage as a wedding present.

However, after quitting royal duty in early 2020, the couple relocated to America and brought a home in Montecito, California, where they still live to this day.
