The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly fear no one will turn up to see them, it has been claimed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly fear that there will be no crowds on their upcoming UK trip, it has been revealed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are expected to arrive in Britain within the next few days if no changes are made, are expected to carry out some public engagements on their visit.

While Harry, 41, was in the UK not too long ago, it has been four years since his wife, Meghan, 44, properly set foot in the country. This is reportedly due to Harry’s security concerns for his wife and children. Although public opinion on Meghan does not seem to be very favourable according to various polls, it is believed that the Duchess of Sussex does not fear being booed.

Instead, the couple - who quit royal life in 2020 - reportedly fear people will simply not turn up to see them.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told New Magazine: "The Sussexes are pragmatic, they're not stupid.

“I think their biggest fear won't be them being booed at by the crowds, it's them not having any crowds and being ignored - not drawing people to whatever they're doing publicly.

“That's what they'll be really frightened of, and it's entirely plausible too, if you take a look at the opinion polls."

Larcombe also said that he thinks Meghan will be nervous about her UK return, having not visited her husband’s home country since 2022.

He said: “They'll put on a brave face and won't let their fears show, but there's no doubt they'll be secretly anxious about how things are going to go.

“Meghan hasn't been here for a long time and, if anything, many people's feelings towards her have only grown stronger during that time, so it's bound to be a concern.

“But Meghan is very good at appearing calm and confident on the outside, regardless of how she might be feeling."
