A popular UK restaurant chain has confirmed the opening date for its newest branch. Flat Iron, known for its delicious yet affordable steaks, is opening a new restaurant on Birmingham's Temple Street later this year. The news was announced back in February, with the restaurant initially scheduled to open this summer. However, the chain has now confirmed that the branch will launch in October.

The restaurant Facebook page, wrote: "Get ready Birmingham, the countdown is on. We'll be opening on Temple Street this October. More details to follow x"

Flat Iron was founded in 2012 by Charlie Carroll, and today it has restaurants all over London, as well as branches in Manchester, Leeds, Cambridge, Brighton and Bristol.

Food lovers in Birmingham jumped at the news of the upcoming launch.

One person commented: "Can't wait."

Another one, tagging their friend, wrote: "We have to go when it opens soooo yummy."

A third said: "So need to go when it's open."

As well as its signature steaks, fans will also be able to enjoy all of the restaurant's iconic side dishes, including the bone marrow garlic mash, beef dripping chops, creamed spinach and truffle macaroni cheese

According to Flat Iron's website, the chain plans to continue expanding nationwide, with it also planning to open its first ever branch in Scotland.

The new branch is scheduled to open on Glasgow's West George Street in 2027.

The chain’s ‘head of beef’, Fred Smith, said: "We’ve been serving beef from Scotland since the early days of Flat Iron. Opening a restaurant here is a proud moment for us.

"Our passion for high-quality, accessible steak is at the forefront of everything we do, and we are looking forward to sharing this with guests in Glasgow."
