A murder investiagtion has been launched after a man died outside a block of flats. The alleged attack took place in Leeds on January 1.
Police were called at 8.14am to reports of suspicious circumstances outside Gargrave Court in Burmantofts. A man had allegedly attacked another man who was lying on the floor.
The man was found by police with serious injuries and rushed to hopsital. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 51-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of murder. Detective Inspector Jodie Hayes, who is investigating the incident, said:“An incident of this nature will understandably cause concern in the local community, and an investigation is underway to establish how the deceased came to lose his life.
“Neighbourhood officers are patrolling the area to provide reassurance for residents, and I would urge people to speak with them if they have any concerns.”
The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is investigating the incident and is appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in or around Gargrave Court at around the time stated.
