'My stepdad abused me aged 13 and insisted I called him dad'

A young woman has revealed how she endured sexual abuse at the hands of her perverted stepfather from age 13 - while he demanded she call him dad. Chloe Songhurst, now 22, was just six years old when Keir Guidotti, 41, began a relationship with her mother and moved into the family home.

However, when she reached her teenage years, the stepfather developed a twisted fixation with her - compelling her to address him as dad, purchasing her underwear and repeatedly declaring his love. The predator touched her intimately - sometimes beneath clothing.

Guidotti also kissed the top of her breasts and between September 1 2021 and May 31 2022, he sexually assaulted her 13 times.

Officers also discovered a folder containing photographs of Chloe's buttocks – whilst clothed – on his mobile phone, taken without her consent. Guidotti's vile conduct left Chloe, who has waived her anonymity, requiring hospital treatment on multiple occasions after attempting to take her own life.

Chloe, who is an expectant mum-of-one, described how Guidotti transformed "home feel like a prison" and became "overly affectionate" as soon as she reached adolescence.

Chloe, who resides in Wiltshire, said: "He [Keir] stepped up to me as a dad from the ages of seven to twelve. From the beginning he was like my dad and we had a good relationship.

"When I turned 13 I was hitting my puberty and it started getting to me his constant need for hugs.

"I was becoming uncomfortable with how much I had to tell him I loved him, how much he would hug me and the fact I still had to kiss him on the lips when I said good night.

"But I had to do it otherwise it would turn into an argument if I didn't. I would always get told to give him what he wants from me because he had stepped up for me as a dad. ".

Upon starting college at 16, she revealed that the abuse escalated to physical violence.

Chloe also began self-harming as a coping mechanism to forget about the abuse.

She disclosed: "If I didn't hug him or text him back saying that I loved him he would push me onto the bed and he would scream at my face, you could feel spit on your face - that's how angry he would get.

"The touching started as back scratches and foot massages. Every time he would come to the room he would scratch my back and then he would start scratching my legs and it would be over the top of the clothes."

"After a while it would go under my leggings and up my legs and it would go under my top.

"He would start rubbing me. He'd go up along my breasts and he would scratch there and he would come all the way up my thighs.

"There was a time where he started going in my waistline and his hands would be in my underwear and he would go around the top of my vagina and he'd gone under my bra a couple of times.

"He'd also kiss me on the top of my breasts, alongside with comments saying 'you make me feel good'."

Guidotti's fixation with Chloe intensified year after year until he began purchasing her lingerie from online retailers.

Chloe said: "He would say I had a really good figure.

"He would want to know when I was wearing the underwear and he would ask me to try them and and tell him how they feel.

"He would bring me his phone with lingerie websites and ask me what my favourite is and would order them for me even though I'd say I didn't want it."

Chloe revealed how the inappropriate contact escalated during lockdown - having tried to take her own life for the first time.

She was repeatedly admitted to hospital due to self-inflicted injuries on her chest, legs and arms.

In a bid to stop the abuse, Chloe's boyfriend Ollie Hall, 22, informed his mother about Guidotti's behaviour towards her.

His mother contacted a local police officer and the following day her stepfather was taken into custody.

"I would not have ever done it myself and I would have never got myself out of that situation if it wasn't for my boyfriend and his parents," Chloe added.

During the police inquiry Chloe was "shocked" to discover that Guidotti had stored a collection of photographs of Chloe's buttocks – whilst clothed – on his mobile device taken without her consent.

Guidotti refuted the series of charges, forcing Chloe to endure the trauma of a trial at Winchester Crown Court on June 30 this year.

The jury convicted him of 13 sexual assaults on July 4 - when the victim was aged 17 to 19. The accused, from Pockeridge Road, Corsham, was sentenced to 40 months in prison on 5 September.

He is required to register as a sex offender indefinitely and must adhere to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. A life-long restraining order has also been issued against him.

Chloe hopes that by sharing her story, she can inspire others who are experiencing abuse to come forward and report it to the police.

She stated: "A lot of people do make you feel like you are not a victim and that you have done something wrong when you are just trying to get your voice heard.

"I struggled to be touched for a long time. It took me a long time to get to a point that it wasn't just talking."

She expressed that while the sentence may not seem lengthy, she feels that justice has been served.
