Insiders claim the Sussexes feel they would have been "annihilated" had they committed a similar Photoshop fail that saw Princess Kate forced to issue a statement earlier this week.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have told sources close to them that they believe they would have been "annihilated" for carrying out a similar Photoshop fail, as seen by Princess Kate earlier this week.

Princess Kate spoke out after it emerged an image she released of her and her three children had been edited prior to its release to coincide with Mother's Day.

And according to a source speaking to Page Six, the Sussexes believed it wasn't "a mistake Meghan would ever make".

They added: "If Harry and Meghan had ever encountered the same issue they would have been annihilated. The same rules do not apply to both couples."
