Police have released CCTV of a man they wish to speak to after they receiving reports that a 15-year-old girl had been raped near a public library. Surrey Police said the alleged incident occurred near Chertsey Library at around 7pm on Friday, June 27.

In their witness appeal, the force said the 15-year-old girl was with a friend when they were approached by two men.

One of the men is then said to have subjected the girl to a sex attack in which she was raped.

The man police are hunting is described as being in his teens, with slicked back blonde hair and was wearing a white jumper, blue jeans and white trainers.

Detective Sergeant Mihai Kerekes said that “incidents of this nature are extremely concerning” and urged for public help to catch the suspect.

He added: “We want to reassure the public that a full investigation is underway to identify the person involved.”

The force subsequently released a video of a man they wish to speak to in relation to their investigation.

They said in a post on Facebook: “Can you help us identify the man in this image? We are looking to speak to him in connection with a report of rape in the area...”

In the footage the man can be seen walking with his back turned to the camera before turning around.

Anyone who recognises him or has any information that could help identify the man is urged to get in touch with the Surrey force.
