A huge fire has erupted in Greater Manchester as residents described "explosions" on social media.

A huge fire has erupted in Greater Manchester near Wythenshawe and Timperley, according to social media reports. 

Several photos and videos posted to X show plumes of smoke and flames rising from the site. 

Several residents described hearing "popping" sounds or "explosions" after the blaze begun.

Videos on social media show huge explosion

Videos circulating on social media site X show a huge explosion at what appears to be some sort of a warehouse. 

Some reports suggest it could be a battery recycling centre.

The Express has reached out to the Greater Manchester Fire Rescue Service.
