In a poignant return to the site of his life-altering accident, Loren Schauers has bravely revisited the location where he tragically lost the lower half of his body in a workplace calamity. The fateful incident occurred back in 2019 when Loren was just 18. He sustained severe injuries after the forklift he was operating fell off a bridge and crushed him from a height of 50 feet. Despite the odds, Loren survived the ordeal and was saved by the swift action of medical staff in Montana, USA.
Now aged 23, Loren has been valiantly documenting his journey of recovery on social media with his partner Sabia, 25, garnering a substantial following. Their YouTube channel has become a hub of inspiration, where they engage with their followers and discuss a wide range of subjects. Their latest video marks a significant moment as they revisit the scene of the accident for the first time in over five years, with Sabia's father driving them there. While Loren appears composed upon their arrival, Sabia is visibly shaken, reports the Daily Star.
When asked about their feelings, Loren remarks: "Surprisingly, I don't have any feelings that are taking over now that we're here..I notice that she's (Sabia's) disasssociating." To which Sabia's father comments: "Maybe you really don't have any PTSD." Sabia herself admits: "I seriously think that since he got all the physical trauma, I got all the emotional trauma because I'm not doing good right now, I'm struggling."
Sabia vividly remembers the chilling phone call informing her that Loren had been in a serious accident and was on the brink of death. On the flip side, Loren appears at peace as he reminisces about happier days spent working on the construction site. The YouTube video documenting their story has garnered over 33,000 views since its release earlier this week, sparking a flood of comments from viewers.
One touched viewer commented: "Loren is so optimistically forward thinking. He doesn't live in the past. That's a brave, inspiring man! Sabia's emotional reaction is her love of Loren. Amazing." Another shared: "I could hear Sabia's heart pounding as they approached the site of the accident. She looks completely saddened."
