Prince William has been called “extraordinary” by a Hollywood actress who has worked with the future King on his Earthshot project. Cate Blanchett, who portrayed Queen Elizabeth I in the 1998 film Elizabeth, works with The Prince of Wales on the Earthshot Prize Council.
The actress praised William for his care for the environment, and for his Earthshot Prize - which he founded to help invest in innovative solutions to tackle climate change. It is believed William’s passion for the environment is “inherited” by his father, and that he is hands-on with Earthshot. This was revealed by Blanchett.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK, Blanchett said: “(He’s been) an extraordinary leader, very hands-on in a consistent and practically engaged way.
“He has inherited that interest (from the King).
William and Blanchett made a joint engagement last year as they visited the Norwich headquarters of UK-based company Colorifix together to find out how they make sustainable clothing dye. The pair seemed to enjoy each other’s company as they wore lab coats and found out all about how Colorifix make the dye.

This saw William joke about how he should have paid more attention in science lessons back at school.
The actress has worked closely with Prince William ever since being part of The Earthshot Prize Council.
Each year, The Earthshot Prize Council selects the five Winners of The Earthshot Prize in a judging session now led by Jesper Brodin, Chair of The Earthshot Prize.
Each of the five Winners receives £1million prize money to help scale up their idea and hopefully help restore the planet in some way.
Blanchett’s full interview can be read in the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK which goes on sale from August 6.
