Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about her friendship with Meghan Markle in a new interview, just a couple of months after they appeared in a video seemingly dismissing rumours of a rivalry. In the chat, the Hollywood star also gave a cryptic answer regarding her future appearance in the Duchess's Netflix show.
The actress attended a summit in LA over the weekend and spoke to People Magazine about her "text friendship" with the Duchess of Sussex. She told the outlet: "We have a text friendship so far. I've been travelling quite a bit."
The Oscar winner then further dismissed rumours of an alleged "beef" between her and Meghan, saying: "I don't like that, when people try to pit women against each other."
But when it came to the new season of the Duchess's Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, the actress gave a very cryptic answer regarding her appearance.
Ms Paltrow said: "Sure! Why not? You never know. I don't bake that well, but I can always try."
Meghan's lifestyle series first aired back in March and featured a number of the Duchess's Hollywood pals as she showed them tips and tricks on hosting.
The second season of With Love, Meghan was filmed at the same time as the first and is due to be released later this autumn.
Rumours of an alleged "beef" between the two women emerged after Meghan launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, this year, which is similar, in concept, to Goop, Ms Paltrow's own brand launched in 2008, which, according to Forbes, is now worth $250million.
But in March, the actress dismissed those rumours yet again and said she would "never" view the Duchess as competition.
She told Vanity Fair: "I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around.
"Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. Another woman is never your competition."
