Donald Trump's speech at the World Economic Forum has sparked renewed concerns for his health, with observers noting his 'faltering' voice and 'incoherence'

Donald Trump's recent public appearances have reignited worries about his health, with observers highlighting issues concerning his voice and coherence. 

The US President is currently attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, alongside fellow world leaders. His visit follows threats to impose tariffs on European nations that oppose his proposed acquisition of Greenland. During the Forum, Trump appeared to muddle his geography, stating: "I'm helping Europe. I'm helping NATO and until the last few days, when I told them about Iceland, they loved me."

Yesterday (January 20) meanwhile, the 79-year old spent an hour and 45 minutes at The White House speaking to reporters about his opening term of his second presidency - veering off into numerous digressions, including claims he could have pursued a career in professional baseball.

Whilst addressing the potential return of psychiatric institutions, the President, who was raised in New York City, recalled training for Little League at Cunningham Park, which he said was adjacent to Creedmoor Psychiatric Hospital.

He said: "I was quite the baseball player, you wouldn't believe. But I said to my mother, 'Mom'... she would be there, always there for me. She said, 'Son, you could be a professional baseball player,' I said, 'Thanks, Mom'."

After reflecting nostalgically on the "big, powerful" asylum structure, Trump criticised the Democrats for shutting down such facilities.

"The Democrats in New York, they took them down and the people live on the streets now," he slammed. "That's why you have a lot of the people in California and other places, they live in the streets. They took the mental institutions down, they're expensive."

Following his recent remarks, social media erupted with concern after noticing one key detail. Many believe the President's voice has changed, which could be a sign his health is suffering.

One X user commented: "There is something seriously wrong with Trump - beyond the usual. Last night we had two hours of incoherence. Today he's on autocue, but his voice is wavering and faltering. He sounds ten years older than previously. He sounds like he will collapse at any minute if he lets go of the lectern."

A second person also pointed out a noticeable change in the President's delivery, penning: "Either Trump lost his voice from that mad libs press conference yesterday or Covid/pneumonia is whooping his a**... he sounds so raspy."

A third lashed out: "I can't listen to Trump anymore. He can't sit up or stand up straight, he sounds weak and his growl voice gives me the willies."

Whilst a fourth X user wrote: "I listened to Donald Trump's address from Davos. What came through was not strength, vision, or leadership - but fatigue. A tired, aging man whose voice no longer carries, delivering a monotone stream of self-praise after an overnight flight across the Atlantic."

The President underwent a number of tests in 2025 last year, including assessments of his cognitive abilities. Concerns have emerged regarding his wellbeing after some noticed him appearing to doze off during meetings and walk with a limp.

Others have also reported spotting Trump using makeup to cover up dark bruises on his hands, which White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed last year was due to him "literally constantly shaking hands".

She added: "The Oval Office is like Grand Central terminal. He is meeting with more people than any of you know about on a daily basis. He's also on a daily aspirin regimen which is something his physical examinations have said in the past can contribute to that bruising that you see."
