Donald Trump has used his Freedom 250 speech on the Fourth of July to boast about the USA's military efforts over Iran.

The President stated that Venezuela and Iran were 'wiped out' when he eventually spoke at the huge event in Washington DC, which was initially delayed due to the weather.

When he took to the stage, he bragged: "We're doing better now than we ever have before."

"All over the world they try to be like us - no-one can be like us. Live free or die, he continued.

"All these talks from the communists, they haven't got a chance. We don't want communists in our country. Never worked and it never will work.

"We will always be on top - we will never let our country fall. We will always be the best."

"You look at Venezuela, you look at Iran, we wiped it out. We wiped out their military."

He continued: "Our recent victory.. sinking the entire Iranian ships to the bottom of the sea. All done in just a moment's time, happened very quickly. We have the greatest military anywhere in the world."

He spoke about guarding the second amendment, the right to bear arms, during his presidency. Chants of 'USA, USA, USA' broke out throughout the speech.

The President brought out numerous American war veterans and flags from throughout history throughout his speech. He described communism as 'like a cancer' and stated 'you have to cut it out fast'.

Severe weather disrupted celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary of independence Saturday in Washington, where storms prompted a roughly two-hour evacuation of the National Mall.

“I’m not going to let some rain stop our 250th,” Trump said in a social media post announcing his plans to still deliver a speech.

Those in attendance were ordered to evacuate with the Secret Service yelling 'move, move move' when some were slow to leave the event. The severe weather alert prompted all in attendance to be evacuated and seek shelter.
