Prince Harry's visit to the UK provides scope for a move that's "in everyone's interest", suggests one royal expert.

The Duke of Sussex is set to visit the UK next month, a visit that will mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Harry will deliver a speech at a special ceremony set to take place at St Paul's Cathedral on May 8. The ceremony will to mark a decade of "changing lives and saving lives through sport".

Aside from the main focus of his trip being the Games, many have wondered whether Harry will use the visit as an opportunity to check in on his family, particularly his father and brother.

Speaking of the upcoming visit, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that the trip could make way for a move that would be "in everyone's interest".

The expert also suggests that the two major health battles in the family could provide a way for Harry to potentially make an amends.

Prince Harry has been at loggerheads with the Royal Family for some time, with the rift esculating further since his and Meghan Markle's royal exit in 2020.

Mr Fitzwillams told Express.co.uk: "Serious illness changes everything. The way attempts to end the rift might succeed is if they happen privately, though there is bound to be enormous media speculation about what will happen.

"It is in everyone's interest that the rift is healed but at its heart is a matter of trust."

Whilst the event in London is "something to celebrate", Mr Fitzwilliams said that it could risk being "overshadowed" by the ongoing family rift.

He said: "It is [something to celebrate], but it is the fault of the Sussexes that it will be overshadowed by the rift in the Royal Family."

Speaking on the possibility of Harry reuniting with his family, Mr Fitzwilliams said that this opportunity appears "less likely" with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

He said: "...whether Harry's visit will involve attempts to end it, both with his father, who has always kept the door open whatever the provocation and, though this appears far less likely at the moment, with William and Catherine."

Whilst Harry's attendance has been confirmed, Meghan Markle's appearance in London remains unknown.

The Duchess of Sussex had been tipped to appear alongside Harry, especially as she is often by his side at Invictus Games events.

Harry and Meghan could also be set to bring their two children - Prince Archie, who turns five next month, and Princess Lilibet, two - if they do both make an appearance.
