Sen. Pamela Wallin has resigned from the Upper Chamber.
The clerk of the Senate received a resignation letter from the longtime Saskatchewan senator effective Sunday, Oct. 18, according to the Senate of Canada.
The reason for her resignation, which was first reported by iPolitics, is not yet known. Wallin turns 75, the Senate's mandatory retirement age, in 2028.
Wallin was appointed to the Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2009.
