An 18-year-old resident of Yorkton, Sask., is facing terrorism charges for allegedly posting videos as a member of 764, a listed terrorist entity in Canada.
The person was arrested in Alberta on Sept. 24 by the RCMP federal policing northwest region's Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET), and RCMP announced the charges in a news release on Tuesday.
The individual was a youth (under the age of 18) at the time of the alleged crimes, so their identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
"Following a report of concerning online activity, INSET began an investigation into a Telegram user who allegedly posted a series of videos depicting real-world activity as a 764 member," the RCMP news release says.
"Investigators found the user was also referenced in numerous 764-related chatrooms on Discord and Telegram."
764 is "a transnational online ecosystem of violent online predators who coerce youth to participate in acts involving child sexual abuse and exploitation, self-harm and the torture of animals," the RCMP says.
Parts of the 764 network have extreme ideological views and victimize children, the news release says.
764 was listed as a terrorist entity in December 2025.
The 18-year-old is charged with participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity and two counts of committing an offence for a terrorist group.
The individual is scheduled to appear in Yorkton provincial court on Tuesday afternoon for a bail hearing.
